Modern slavery policy

Brucair Import Export (BVBA) Rue de l'Intendant 40, 1080, Bruxelles Belgium (“Brucair Commodities”, “We” or “Us”), has compiled this voluntary modern slavery statement to demonstrate our commitment to preventing the occurrence of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. This statement sets out our commitment, our approach, and the steps we are taking to identify, assess and address the risk of modern slavery in our organisation and supply chain in line with the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015.

Overarching statement

Modern slavery is a global concern with long-lasting impacts on affected individuals and communities. Slavery, the use of child labour and human trafficking are abuses of a person’s freedoms and rights. We are wholly opposed to such abuses wherever they occur. We are committed to preventing the occurrence of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains, regardless of their locations. We are committed to continual improvement of our policies, standards and practices with respect to effectively eliminating these practices from any part of our business or activities.

Policies

Brucair Commodities’ commitment to respecting human rights and operating in compliance with all laws and in accordance with fair labour practices as evidenced by our Code of Ethics. The Workplace and Human Rights section of our Code provides a clear directive to both our employees and business partners that we do not use child or forced labour, we respect employee’s rights of freedom of association and we follow the direction of the International Bill of Human Rights.

Effectiveness and Performance Review

We do not have key performance indicators specifically in relation to anti-slavery, child labour or human trafficking as any instance would be a non-compliance and breach of employment laws, our direct employment practices, wider Group policies / standards and / or our Code of Ethics.

We recognise we have more work to do to identify and manage the risk of modern slavery in our organisation and supply chain. We will continue to engage with our stakeholders on modern slavery and look to identify further areas of improvement.
